SA Renewables closely monitors the political and legal landscape to ensure that our projects have the greatest chance of success. In response to recent governmental actions at the California state level, we have chosen biogas plants that meet the highest standards by processing methane and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from stored and land-distributed farm wastes by 94%.

California is very active in promoting renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction:

  • In September 2016, California passed a law SB No. 1383 requiring a 40% reduction of 2013 methane levels by 2030. For more information click HERE.
  • In September 2018, California passed a law SB No. 100 mandating a target of 60% of electricity from renewable sources. For more information click HERE.
  • In September 2018, California passed a law SB No. 1440 requiring the Public Utilities Commission, in consultation with the State Air Resources Board, to consider adopting specific bio-methane procurement targets or goals for each California gas corporation. For more information click HERE.
  • According to Executive Order B-55-18 from 2018, California should be carbon neutral by 2045. For more information click HERE.
